Kid & Hub {NOW OPEN IN ADELAIDE}

Imagine a "one stop shop" in Adelaide for kid's activities, free play opportunities, COFFEE, healthy food - a convenient place for families.

Yes a haven like this does exist! (And it's open now!)

Through the magic of social media and online mummies groups I came across the lovely duo Giuliana and Stacey (turns out Stacey and I went to the same high school #thatsadelaide) and I am so thrilled to be working with them to share Kid & Hub with my Adelaide based community of readers (because you all know how enthusiastic I am about my beautiful city).

Now I've pretty much been to every play cafe there is in - but believe me, this is NOT another play cafe! There's no place quite like it in Adelaide (or even Australia the girls tell me).

"Kid & Hub is Adelaide's premier activity hub designed to foster children's creativity. Let our mixed-use creative space instil in your children a lifelong love of learning and movement"
 - Kid & Hub website.

Parents can book their under school-aged children into a variety of sessions in the "Activity Hub" such as;
  • Craft & Sensory
  • Music & Movement
  • Sport
  • Yoga
  • (with more to be added to the timetable in future)
Class sizes are capped at 10 children to ensure maximum opportunities for participation with a facilitator to run the session. It's not designed to be a child minding service - a parent must be keeping an eye on their little ones and remain on site.

Before or after your session, let your kids have a bit of free play in the "Play Hub" (pictured above). They can explore a range of carefully selected wooden and educational toys while you enjoy a barista made coffee! Giuliana and Stacey were telling me about their aim to provide healthy food options for their members and visitors. Nothing deep fried - but lots of sandwiches and plenty of other options! Children receive a piece of fruit after their session (and you are also welcome to bring in your own food - unlike many other places).

One thing I love that the girls have planned for Kid & Hub is the convenience. It really is like a "one stop shop". After I've taken my kids out for an activity, the last thing I want to do is stop at the shops on the way home, get them in and out of the car again just to pick up essentials like bread, milk, eggs, nappies etc... BUT Kid & Hub can help you out here. You could even take home a pre-made lasagne for dinner! Amazing right?

What you need to know

Location: 253A Magill Road Maylands, directly behind Anytime Fitness. Parking on site.

Opening hours:
Monday - Thursday 9am - 3:30 pm
Friday & Saturday 9am - 12:30 pm
Activities continue over the school holidays which is another great feature! The girls have thought of everything!

Kid & Hub would love to invite you to book a FREE trial session during the month of February! Go here to their bookings page and choose your activity and session time. From there you'll be directed to sign up and at the checkout you can select the "free trial" option.

Alternatively, there are several flexible membership options for you to consider;

  • Ongoing membership = $34 per fortnight which allows your child to attend one session of your choice per week
  • Ten pass membership = $180
  • Five pass membership = $95
  • Casual pass = $22
  • Play Hub entry = free for members, otherwise $5 per child over 6 months (but this is deducted if you spend over $15 on food/drinks).

Miss M absolutely loved her "Craft and Sensory" class, (she tells me she wants to try yoga next) and I'm hoping to take Little Man to try "Music and Movement" very soon.

Everything else you need to know is on their website - if you have a specific question, flick the lovely ladies an email at hello@kidandhub.com.au. Special thanks to Giuliana and Stacey for creating something so special and unique for Adelaide's children.

Meet Giuliana and Stacey

So will I be seeing you there? Anyone want to meet me there for a coffee?
